Astrological inspiration makeup

  I always got some inspiration from my new buy item, this time, I bought a L`OREAL Disco Smoking S3 palette, just love the colours at first sight, pure charcoal colour, mysterious dark purple, gorgeous purplish red and a bright khaki colour, which reminds me about the palette MAYBELLINE BIGEYES STUDIO 02 I bought few days ago, which also has a similar yellow colour, I can make a combination with these two. Yellow colour palette also reminds about a star sign-Leo, royal, solar, and energetic.

Another purple colour makes connect with another sign-Scorpio, mysterious, dark, and extreme and envy.

Formula 1: Charcoal + Dark Purple + Purplish red=Scorpio

STEP:

         1.   Apply champagne eye base on your upper eyelid.

        2.  Press the purplish red colour from L`OREAL palette on the 2/3 of your upper eyelid.

 3. Use a darker brown colour to draw a fake orbit (same way as my last post) to accomplish the smoky eye.

  4.  Use my new favourite ecoTOOLS full eye shadow brush to apply the darker purple on the 1/3 of the end of upper eyelid, and blend it. The new brush is soft and smooth, it’s ‘blend effortlessly’, and the most important thing is the brush is totally made from recycle materials, let’s be eco-friendly!
      
       5.  Draw sharp ‘cat’-like eyeliner to shape and emphasise your eye.
       
     6. Pigment your lower eyeliner by the darker purple colour, coz this is the smoky eye makeup, we’d better pigment the whole eyeliner, not the 2/3 as normal.
  7.  Use champagne again to highlight the inner corner of your lower eyeliner.

   

      8.   Finally, apply a bit charcoal colour on the very end of lower eyeliner.

 

                        Formula 2: brass brown+ bright khaki + bright yellow=Leo

STEP:

1.   Apply highlight white colour on your upper eyelid, then use darker brown draw a fake orbit again.

     2. Apply the bright khaki in the middle of your upper eyelid, and make sure the area of khaki colour is inside the fake orbit.

     3.  Use the same khaki to pigment your lower eyeliner. 

     4.  Inside the khaki lower eyeliner, apply a bit brass brown, and blend them.

     5.   Apply bright yellow on the inner corner of your upper eyelid.

My Double Standard MakeUp East vs. West

  When I just started my makeup journey,  I was always confused about the makeup methodology which I`ve read on those western fashion magazines. Coz when I followed the way they did makeup, just makes my face look so wired. After few years constantly self practising and exploring, I just realised a thing, a simple thing, different makeup methods for different kinds of people, and all makeup methods based on people`s face structures. 

  Western people usually have very deep orbit, sunken eyes, long nose, high cheekbones, however Asian`s face look 'flat', we have flat face structure, flat orbit, short nose, flat cheekbones. If you are a western people, the western way of makeup is the fittest one to go. For me, I have a typical Asian face, my makeup is quite safe with eastern method. However, that doesn`t  mean you can`t take a risk with western makeup on your face, the western way I used to do was totally wrong, that was why me face looks wired, after that I practised a lot, found some right ways and tips to go.This kinda concept came in my mind last night, so I gave a shot to see how`s going with this idea. So I call this 'my double standard eye makeup'. 

  No matter your eastern or western people, try the other way around, make difference, swap, swap!

   Let`s start with the eastern style (left), coz our eastern people have a 'flat' orbit, also have small and long eye liners, the distant between eye and eyebrow is shorter, therefore I will focus on emphasis the distinctive easter eye shapes, and also make eye looks bigger and  more attractive.

      

STEP:  

1. Apply golden yellow colour on your upper eyelid, I just obsess with this colour palette, which looks good on me.

2. Switch to another clean brush to apply brown colour on the 2/3 of your upper eyelid.

3. Dip a bit dark charcoal colour on the 1/3 of your upper eyelid.

4. After wearing false eyelash (make sure to choose a natural look false eyelash, leave the big and dramatic one for the western later ), use eyeliner gel to draw a flowing and natural eyeliner.

5. Apply a darker brown colour on the 2/3 of your upper eyeliner, and apply mascara on your lower eyeliner as well.

6.  Use light white colour to highlight the inner corner, extend the colour to the 1/3 of the lower eyeliner.

7. Apply the brass dark brown from REVLON PHOTOREADY 510 Graffiti palette on the 1/3 of your upper outer corner. 

   Then, the western eye makeup (right). The most significant point here is to make the 'fake sunken eye socket ', which just make eastern look like a western.

STEP:

1.   Same as the left, apply golden yellow on your upper eyelid.

2.  In order to do the 'fake sunken eye socket' , use highlight colour to highlight the space between your eye and eyebrow, then use dark brown carefully draw a '>' shape from your outer corner towards to the inner corner, and fade out the colour gradually.

3. Apply charcoal colour on the end of upper outer corner, and blend it.

5. Use soft black eyeliner pencil to draw a inner eyeliner.

6. After applying the dramatic false eyelash, draw a black outer eyeliner by eyeliner gel, make it darker and shape.

7. Use darker brown colour to emphasise the outer corner of your lower eyelid.

East vs. West, which one is better? I love them both, just two different styles of eye makeup, we don`t need to follow the one rule forever, sometime just jump out of the box, you can see a better world!

   Some of my friends asked me why I did the eye makeup all the time, what about lips, cheeks? Maybe it`s` my problem, I just very obsess with eye makeup, I think eye is the most important part of makeup, if you get the eye makeup right, you get the whole face makeup right.

My Very First Water Marble Nail Art Experiment

  I don`t actually remember, since when I`m falling love with nail art, but I have to admit that I am a very beginner in this field. I am a wanderer on YouTube always, I found some great great nail art tutorials out there, here is the water marble nail art tutorial from a famous nail art youtuber, her username is My Little Simple Pleasures, you can have a look, it`s a spectacular water marble pattern, just like an exotic and mysterious colourful river is flowing past your nails.  
  Btw, I know the theme of this video is Valentine`s Day, it`s just a little bit out of place, anyway, having a beautiful nails, everyday is the Valentine`s Day!

Learned something? Good, let`s start some our own experiment of water marble nail art, it should be fun!
Here is my very own and first water marble nail experiment step by step. Oops, It looks like a handcraft workshop, but trust me, it`s not hard to achieve at all, but you need to practise a lot.

TOOL:

SALLY HANSEN DIAMOND SHINE Base &Top coat

MAYBELLINE COLOURSHOW PEDAL TO THE METAL 400&SAPPHIRE SIREN 360
&GREEN WITH ENVY& Chiffon Chic

O.P.I Atomic ORANGE

A glass of water (filter water is recommended)

Scotch tape

A toothpick 


STEP:
1. Clean your hands and nails for the best results.
    Wrap your fingers by tapes, it`s crucial! Coz we just want your nails be covered by beautiful pattern, not the rest parts of your fingers.

2. Prepare a glass of clean water, filtered water is the best.

3. Choose two colours to start, high contrast colour is better, such as white&blue, green&red...it`s up to you, use your favorite colour to play with.
    Drop one colour a time on the surface of water.

4.  Then, we switch to another colour, also one drop a time.

5. One drop for one colour a time, layer by layer, and so on. After few sec, you can see an amazing swirl is showing up.

6. An important part here, use toothpick to 'scratch' on the surface of the swirl (the polish became like a kinda 'oily skin' now), If you know how to do the Latte art, it`s basically the same concept.

7. Here is the big thing. 'Dive' or 'dip' your nail into the water through the surface of swirl.
For this 'dip', you should be rapidly without any hesitation, coz the 'oily skin' will attach on your nail by a sec, don`t mess it up.

8. Stay in the water for few sec, the tip for this step is to make sure your finger do not touch the surface of glass underwater, it`s gonna ruin the pattern on your nails, just spread few sec to let it stay and firm. 
   Also, tell your finger don`t be rush to 'breathe', coz we need do some surface cleaning before you taking it out of water. Use toothpick to pick up the rest of swirl, don`t leave this part out, if you don`t clean them, the pattern on your nails will be pulled off.
   Last but not least step, use your top coat to 'seal' these patterns on your nails, don`t forget apply the top coat on the tips of your nails as well.

9-14.  After you finished your first pattern, you can keep going for your second one, or you can stay with the same patter for your 5 fingers, or like me, switch different patterns, make your hands colourful!

How amazing these patterns are, which are totally formed by accidentally and naturally, you`ll never know what is your next pattern will look like, the most beautiful thing of art is uncertainty.

Inspiration From Nature

It`s Monday! We need a natural and stunning makeup to refresh the whole week.

I bought two colour palettes last Friday, I`ve already used for our party night makeup, which was looks so amazing (Please see my last post). One is MAYBELLINE BIG EYES STUDIO 02, which has one pure white colour for highlight, one bass brown colour, and two very bright golden yellow colour and vivid green colour. For this makeup, my inspiration not only from the new buy palettes, also the nature, forest and ocean. Because the beautiful palettes just remind me about the two natural elements.

Here`s the leaf eye makeup.

One pair of false eyelashes

STEP:

1. Apply the concealer around your eyes to highlight your skin colour.

2. Use the golden yellow from your palette, to apply all over the upper eyelids roughly.

3. Then, chose the vivid green colour to apply on the 2/3 of your upper eyelids, this is the most important part of this makeup, just remember the green colour should be looks very obvious, that`s why I be attracted to this colour palette, because the colour is so straightforward and easy to blend.

4. Also an important step, blend the two colours, but do not blend too much, coz we want the two colours to against each other very strong by visually. Now, we can see a beautiful spring colour eye shadow spread on my eyes.

5. Stick your false eyelashes, it will help you to enlarge your eyes and make them look more attractive.

6. One last step, apply the green colour on the 2/3 of your lower outer corner. 


The second eye makeup is ocean inspiration. I will leave out the first few steps, coz these two makeups are basic the same. Here I will use the second palette I bought, which is the
MAYBELLINE BIGEYES STUDIO 04, it has one light brown, one darker brown, one nude colour and a stunning ocean blue colour.

STEP:

1. Roughly spread the nude colour from the BIGEYES 04 palette on your upper eyelids, it`s up to you to use brushes or just your fingers, actually finger is a good makeup tool, coz you can use your skin temperature to blend shadows or foundation, to make them looks very smooth and neutral. 

2. Apply the ocean blue colour on the 2/3 of your upper eyelids, don`t blend these two colours too much, same concept as the first makeup.
And then, apply more blue colour on the 1/3 of the previous blue area. 

3. Use the black charcoal colour from REVLON PHOTOREADY 510 Graffiti palette, and apply on the very end of the upper eyelids.
Apply the blue colour on the 2/3 of the lower eyeliners, make sure the end will connect with the upper eyeliners. Also, spread the charcoal colour inside the blue colour shadow to enhance the 'deep' and 'mysterious' sensation.

My Party Night MakeUp

It`s Party!
Last night was a clubbing and party night for three friends of mine and I. I am just falling love with clubbing, not only because of the dance, alcohol, crowd, music, blablabla... also the makeup and dress up before going to club, we were totally mess then, and did makeup for four people included myself, just drove me crazy!! However, I love it !
I think it may be a good thing to share those joyful makeup time and some behind the scene stuff with you guys.

Here we go!

The upcoming are the makeup profiles of my three friends, they have totally different type of appearance, such as the shape of eyes, lips, cheeks. So I need to do three different makeups, it just enhance my makeup experience, I usually just makeup on my own face, this time I got chance to experiment on others` faces, and they totally trusted me.

So, don`t be shy my friends, show yourself!

Earthy Eye Makeup

   Hi everyone, winter is coming, so I decided to do a warm, earth tone eye makeup tutorial today.
     Earth tone eye is a kinda basic makeup, it is suitable to different occasions, no matter when you are in workplace, party,or just your everyday makeup, it can never failed. Especially in winter or fall, earthy and warm colour eye makeup just can make you looks more kind and elegant. 
      I have to apologise, I used too much pictures to explain my steps,  but I reckon that`s the only way for me to show the every details to you guys.   

Tools & Products preparation :

REVLON COLOURSTAY FOUNDATION 03 NUDE NU

MAYBELLIN SUPERSTAY CONCEALER

REVLON PHOTOREADY  EYE SHADOW GRAFFITI 510

MAYBELLINE EYESTUDIO EYE LINER GEL CHARCOAL CHARBON+BROWN BRUN

ETUDE HOUSE LashPerm  MASCARA

RIMMEL EYEBROW PANCIL 004 BLACK

1 EYELASH CURLER 


STEPS:

        1-6. Apply foundation around your eye, and also dot some concealer to brighten and correct the colour of your eyelids.

         7-9. Choose the lightest colour to be the primer, and apply roughly on your upper eyelid.
         
        10-11. Then apply the brown colour on the inner corner of your upper eyelid, use a clean brush to blend it.

        12-13. Use brown eye liner gel to draw a inner eye line. Just remember, inner eye line is important, do not leave any blank under your outer eye line.

        14-15. Curl your eyelash, and apply false eyelashes.

        16-17. Use the charcoal eye shadow colour, apply on the 2/3 of your inner eye line.

        18-19. Draw a black outer eye line with charcoal colour eyeliner gel. The line need to be clear and neat, also a little trick here, you can extend the end of your eye line to make your eye looks bigger and nicer.

         20-21. Also an important step, apply brown eye shadow on the 2/3 of your lower eyelid corner, to correspond with your upper eye shadow. The final result we wanna achieve is the smokey and blurry feel.
         
        22.      Draw your eyebrow.
      
        23.     Apply mascara again, if your lash is dry already.

        24.     Tip the primer colour to apply on the head of your lower eyelid, which we called 'waterline', when you blinking, you can see your eye is bright and 'starring'. 

       25. Apply mascara on your lower eyelashes, which can make your eyes look bigger!

       26. Tip some primer colour on the centre of your upper eyelid, some effect as STEP 24.

       27. Highlight your brow bone.
